2. Age of Mythology: Retold

Age of Mythology is one of the classic real-time strategy games, coming out back in 2004, when the Command & Conquer series was still a thing… It’s looking a bit long in the tooth now, so it’s a good thing that Ensemble Studios, the people behind the Age of Empire series, are working on a remake of the game.

Age of Mythology: Retold will have the same epic single player campaign, plus modernized gameplay and graphics. This means playing through it could be even a better experience as you command monsters of legend such as mummies and unleash earthquakes to hit your enemies hard on the battlefield. And hopefully the multiplayer will feel just as good in this remake when it arrives this summer too, but you can also expect computer opponents to put up a tough challenge (thanks to the improved AI) in what could be the definitive version of this classic game.

Release date: September 4, 2024. Available on Xbox Series X/S and PC (also on Xbox Game Pass).
